Flippo Chissotti, also known as Chiss, studied at the Albertina Academy where he had sculptor Marino Marini as his teacher. In the first years of the post-war period he held his first exhibition of drawings at the Galleria Faber in Turin. In 1947 he participated in the Venice Biennale and then in the Rome Quadriennale of 1948 and 1951. Many of his works were influenced by his passion for flying.
