In the early 1970s Edgardo Abbozzo assumed the role of director of the Art Institute of Florence and in 1973, after having obtained the first place in the Prize for the Plastics Arts of Perugia, he became director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara. His ceramic production is characterized by a rigorous monochrome, the decorative element of which consists of a series of raised signs of plant inspiration. In 1984 he was appointed Director of the Academy of Art in Perugia and in 1986 he was invited to take part in the Venice Biennale and the Rome Quadrennial.
